ValueSet hiện còn cho phép mã bổ sung 55 (người nước ngoài, xuất hiện trong một số sổ tay thống kê GSO) và 99 (fallback cục bộ); hai mã này không được trình bày như thành phần dân tộc do QĐ 121-TCTK/PPCĐ ban hành. Cấu trúc extension và binding là thiết kế VN Core. FHIR base chỉ có US Race/Ethnicity — không phù hợp cho Việt Nam.
